Murray Goulburn (MG) has announced it was considering other locations for its planned Koroit nutritionals plant.
Interim chief executive David Mallinson quashed speculation MG had scrapped plans for the Koroit plant.
But he said the company was “revisiting all its capital projects”, to ensure they made the most effective use of the capital raised.
“It is with this in mind, that we are considering other potential locations for the nutritionals plant to ensure that we have the most appropriate and cost effective location,” Mr Mallinson said.
“At this stage no final decision has been made.
“It’s important to note that Koroit remains a critical centre for our operations and this review will not impact our current activities or workforce.”
Mr Mallinson said the company was mindful of the significant role it played in the communities in which it operated and the contribution it make to regional Victoria.
