Milk In The Spotlight At Indianapolis 500

The American Dairy Association Indiana says the month of May is an opportunity to showcase the role of dairy to a healthy diet.

Brooke Williams, director of communications, says the winner of the Indianapolis 500 drinks a glass of milk in the winner’s circle, which highlights milk’s nutritional value.

“Whether you’re finishing a workout or grabbing a chocolate milk to refuel, we always tell people in one serving of milk, you’re going to get that 8 grams of protein and 13 essential nutrients,” she says. “It’s one of the most cost-effective ways to get the nutrition you need in a day.”

She tells Brownfield a new partnership with ADAI, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and Prairie Farms Dairy is putting the spotlight on Indiana dairy farmers.

“This year, we have the special edition Prairie Farms milk pint bottles that feature five different IndyCar drivers,” she says. “They’re making milk more exciting to purchase. We’ve seen a lot of attention on social media of people going out and trying to find all five pints.”

The 109th running of the Indianapolis 500 will be held on Sunday, May 25th.
