Lactantia filtered Canadian milk now packaged in convenient and recyclable bottles suited to the needs of today’s Canadian families

Lactantia PūrFiltre milk, with its fresh taste and superior quality Canadians love so much, is now available in unique, easy to handle bottles.  They are specially designed to protect the fresh taste of the filtered milk like never before. As a leading industry innovator with consumer needs in mind, Parmalat Canada breaks new ground yet again: as of July, it will become the first major dairy processor to feature 1.5 L milk bottles that are resealable and recyclable. The bottles are easier to use and help protect the freshness of the milk for an even longer period of time, without the use of additives or preservatives.

The new containers will make a gradual entry on Canada’s key markets starting in July. The new format, developed to better meet the lifestyles of today’s consumers, will be made available in all Lactantia PūrFiltre product lines. Lactose-free and organic products will also be offered in the new 1.5 L size.

The products will be bottled at a cutting-edge Canadian plant in Brampton, as always with milk supplied entirely by Canadian producers, whose equipment and facilities meet and exceed the highest of industry standards.

Three years of continuous research
The introduction of the new PET bottles – BPA-free certified, easily resealable and with a refined, contemporary design – is the culmination of three years of intense R&D by Parmalat Canada at its Canadian Research and Development Centre.

The bottles are recyclable, as are the resealable, certified BPA-free caps. The caps have a temper evidence safety ring to ensure food safety.  Both the bottle and the cap have a light barrier that helps protect the integrity of the milk.

In addition to being easier to handle and store than conventional milk containers, the new bottles developed by Parmalat Canada better protect the fresh taste and nutritional properties of milk. The sealed products can be stored for longer and help make that first sip goodness last even longer.

“Today’s announcement is a great source of pride for the Parmalat Canada family. It demonstrates the scope of our company’s leadership and drive to innovate,” said Marco De Palma, General Manager, Fluid, at Parmalat Canada. “It is the culmination of sustained and collaborative efforts by our Research and Development, Marketing and Operations team, which has worked tirelessly on the project for more than three years. The new bottles are truly an innovative step forward for dairy product packaging. They give consumers Canadian milk of exceptional quality while also better meeting their needs.”

Parmalat Canada will continue to offer its other lines and formats of dairy products in conventional containers.
