Reynoldsburg, Ohio, June 6, 2016—The judges have been selected for The 64th All-American Jersey Shows, sponsored by the American Jersey Cattle Association of Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
The largest exhibition of Registered Jersey™ cattle in the world, the three shows of The All American will be held November 5, 6 and 7, 2016 in conjunction with the North American International Livestock Exposition in Louisville, Ky.
Mike Berry, Albany, Ore., will judge The All American Jersey Show on Monday, November 7. This will be his third consecutive year to officiate in Freedom Hall, having placed the 2015 All American Junior Jersey Show and the National Jersey Jug Futurity in 2014. He judged the California Spring Holstein and Jersey shows in 2015, the 2014 Kentucky State Fair and was associate judge for the 2013 International Red & White Show at World Dairy Expo. His consultant will be Jon Kingdon, Warwick Township, Ontario.
Ted DeMent, Kenney, Ill., will place the 63rd National Jersey Jug Futurity on November 6. DeMent is a familiar presence at the All American, having previously judged the Jersey Jug Futurity in 2002, the open shows of 2000 and 2008 and the junior show in 2011. Over the years, he has judged at every level from county to national and international for all breeds. He was an evaluator for the AJCA Type Traits Appraisal Program and has also served as a member and chair of the association’s Type Advisory Committee. His consultant will be Amanda Lutz, Chester, S.C.
The National Jersey Jug Futurity is the oldest and richest class for dairy cattle in the world. There are 316 cows eligible for the 2016 show, which is expected to offer $10,000 in premiums.
Judge for The All American Junior Jersey Show on November 5 will be Jeff Brown, Jackson, Center, Ohio. This will be his judging debut at the All American. He was associate judge for the 2014 Jersey show at World Dairy Expo, having placed Jerseys in the junior and open shows at the Ohio State Fair in 2013 and the Pennsylvania All-American junior Jersey show in 2012. Brown has also judged at national dairy shows in Brazil, Colombia and Costa Rica. Jenny Thomas, North Lewisburg, Ohio, will be the consultant.
The first and second place winners in each class of these shows will become the 2016 All American and Reserve All American honorees of the American Jersey Cattle Association.
