Jersey Ontario has announced a new Junior program! If you are between the ages of 10 and 25 and passionate about the Jersey Breed, consider becoming involved in their new All Ontario Junior Program.
Their Mission Statement:
The Junior All Ontario Show Program was established to encourage keen Jersey youth to:
- To become Junior or Regular Members of Jersey Canada
- To purchase and develop registered Jersey cattle
- To offer opportunities for recognition through shows and seminars
Rules:
1. Participants must be between the ages of 10 and 25 as of January 1st of the show year.
2. The Junior must be a member of Jersey Canada through the Junior Membership or Regular Membership program.
3. The animals that are being shown must be transferred to the Junior Member solely or jointly with another Junior member or jointly owned with the Junior Member’s parents’ prefix. The animal(s) must be transferred by July 15th, 2019.
4. Juniors may show all ages of heifers and cows that the show offers and can enter as many animals as he or she desires. The animals must be shown by the Junior to be recognized in the program. If the member has multiple animals in a class, additional animals may be shown by another Junior member. The animals must then be entered with Jersey Ontario HERE by July 21st, 2019.
5. An animal could be shown at multiple shows if it has multiple owners. This will be determined by the local show rules.
6. At County/Regional/National shows in Ontario, the Junior will be recognized by stepping forward in line. The show must have a minimum of 5 Junior Exhibitors in the Jr. Section to warrant a Junior Jr. Champion class and the same would be in effect for the Sr. animals vying for Grand Champions.
7. Entry into the program is at no charge.
