The Gold Cup open day held at Shanael Holsteins – run by the Miller family was a resounding success. The day was topped off with the Golden Celebration sale which saw prices reach 9,000gns for a Sudan daughter – Shanael Sudan Golden.
The yearling heifer was selected by the winning bidder from a choice of two full sisters sired by the International outcross VA-Early-Dawn Sudan. Their Dam Shanael Bolton Golden-VG89 is part of the herds top cow family and descends from eight generations of VG and EX dams. Currently in her 2nd lactation she is yielding over 70kg daily.
VA-Early-Dawn Sudan was given the title of International Outcross Sire 2011 due to his unique pedigree Jammer X Sailor X Duster, giving the sire global appeal. Sudan daughters rank highly for Feet & Leg improvement with a score of + 2.21 and have great production giving + 576 kgs Milk, with positive fat and protein percentages.
