Loren and Helen Zimmerman of Hummelstown, Pa., will receive the Image Award, and Allen Hess of Hagerstown, Md., will be named the Pioneer Award
winner at the All-American Dairy Show on Monday, September 18 at 4 p.m., during the Premier National Junior Show Supreme Champion Pageant at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center, Harrisburg.
“The Image and Pioneer awards pay tribute to those ‘behind-the-scenes’ volunteers who help keep the All-American Dairy Show running seamlessly,” said All-American Dairy Show President Michelle Cornman. “Well-deserved winners, the Zimmermans and Allen continue to make the show better each year proving their dedication to our junior and open show exhibitors.”
The Image Award is presented annually to an individual who has enhanced the image of the All-American Dairy Show with notable contributions to its reputation, prestige and welfare. The Zimmermans are committed volunteers who exemplify the purpose of the Image Award. Loren chairs the trade show committee and communicates with sponsors to set up booths and displays, and secures sponsor banners in the arenas. Helen serves on the decorating committee that beautifies the show rings and photo areas, and can often be found providing meals for her set up crew.
The Pioneer Award is presented to an individual who has considerable impact on the overall success of the previous year’s All-American Dairy Show, exhibiting time, energy or leadership to that helped improved the quality of the show.
This year’s winner, Allen Hess, serves as the vice-president of the All-American Dairy Show, working tirelessly on the show’s needs year-round. His decision-making has positively impacted the finances, experience, and longevity of the show, including the Premier National Junior Events. A true advocate, Allen also promotes the importance of the show to the local infrastructure and the dairy industry.
