Iager Scholarships Awarded to Huff & Littrell

The National Dairy Shrine is pleased to announce two recipients of the 2020 Iager Scholarship. These scholarships were created by an endowment from the Charles and Judy Iager family of Fulton, Maryland. This $1000 scholarship is awarded annually to second-year students enrolled in a two-year agricultural school and pursuing a career in the dairy industry. Recipients are selected based on academic achievement, leadership ability, interest in the dairy industry, and future career plans. The recipients this year are:

Justin Huff of Dix, Illinois, is attending Kaskaskia College working on an associate degree in Pre-Veterinary Medicine with plans to further his education at the University of Illinois. Justin has been active in the Illinois PAS, serves as a Kaskaskia College Student Trustee, as well as being very involved in dairy judging, and has served numerous leadership roles in dairy groups. Justin is planning on a career as a dairy large animal veterinarian and hopes to help dairymen in Southern Illinois after graduation.

Laura Littrell of St Johnsville, New York is attending the State University of New York – Cobleskill and majoring in Animal Science. Laura plans to complete her education at Cornell University in Dairy Science. Laura has been very active in the New York Junior Holstein Association, her college dairy club and Sigma Alpha. Ms. Littrell placed in the top ten at three major national dairy cattle judging contest and was a member of the high team at Harrisburg, Louisville, and Madison. Ms. Littrell is planning on following her life-long passion with a career in dairy cattle genetics.
