The annual Holstein Canada Cow of the Year competition is underway, and members are urged to vote for their favorite by Feburary 27, 2026!

Always highly anticipated, the announcement of the 2025 Cow of the Year winner will be made at Holstein Canada’s Annual General Meeting of Members, Saturday, April 18, 2026 in British Columbia.

Chanmar Adonis Miss Red EX-94-5E 4*
Miss Red has earned her place as one of the most admired Red & White Cows in Ontario. In 2019, Miss Red was the All-Ontario Red & White Senior Cow and has gone on to prove that she is the full package of dairy strength, longevity and productivity. A maternal sister to Glaustar Jacot Majesty Red EX-93-3E, Miss comes from a family who breeds both type and performance.
At 11 years old and in her seventh lactation, Miss Red has surpassed 120,000 kg of lifetime milk. Despite a difficult start to this lactation, being down for a week, she has come back with resilience and continues to milk at 40 liters a day nearly a year later. Miss Red is breeding true, having produced five EX daughters, three VG, and 4*. Both of her oldest daughters have also proven themselves as high producers, each surpassing 60,000 kg of milk.
In 2023, Miss Red was awarded Grand Champion at the Renfrew County Show, then went on to Toronto where she placed 2nd in the Mature Cow Class at The Royal Winter Fair and was recognized as the top Production Cow in the Red & White Show.
Miss Red is the kind of cow many breeders aspire to work with every day, a kind natured, consistently high producer, fundamental milk cow.

Hendercroft Winbrok Gummybear EX-95-4E 4*
Gummybear is a strong representation of the true Canadian kind. Scoring just 83 points as a two-year-old, she consistently improved with each lactation, ultimately achieving a score of EX-95-4E and producing nearly 90,000 kg of lifetime milk. In 2023, Gummybear was awarded All-Canadian Production Cow, along with many other awards throughout the years.
Beyond her own accomplishments, Gummybear is proving to be a tremendous brood cow. With daughters from a variety of crosses, she consistently passes on her strength, balance and udder quality. To date, she has 1 Excellent, 7 Very Good, and 1 Good Plus daughters in Canada.
Gummybear’s dam is Lheros Gumball EX-96-6E, who was a 2019 Cow of the Year nominee, and a true testament to lasting strength and breeding excellence. Gummybear has a Lambda daughter who is 89 points as a second calver and was the Reserve Grand Champion at the 2024 Lindsay Exhibition as a two-year-old.

Jacobs High Octane Babe EX-96-2E 4*
Jacobs High Octane Babe is the epitome of the modern Canadian Holstein combining elite conformation (+11), high production and global influence. Her sons, BRUINS, BULLDING, and BUBBLE are currently on rotation at Semex, carrying forward Babe’s influence on a broader scale.
Babe is no stranger to the spotlight, having won the B&W Class at the National Holstein Show in 2022 as a 5-Year-Old. Babe has produced 230 embryos, many of which have sold abroad, making her name recognized globally. Babe has 38 daughters, 14 of which are classified: one EX, ten VG and three GP. Several of her daughters have already made names for themselves, including Jacobs Destiny Balla VG-89, who was All-Canadian and Intermediate Champion at the National Holstein Show in 2023, and Jacobs Lambda Baz VG-87, who sold for $320,000 USD at the International Intrigue Sale and recently placed 2nd in the 4-Year-Old class at World Dairy Expo.
Babe is undoubtedly a cow of character who would be an incredible asset to any herd.

Vinbert Kingboy Birdy EX-95-4E 5*
Vinbert Kingboy Birdy is the kind of cow that makes you look forward to getting up and heading to the barn each morning. Improving with every lactation, she has all the components of a true milk cow.
Birdy is admired for her exceptional udder, high milk yield, clean bone and balanced frame. She is the current (2024) Grand Champion at Le Suprême Laitier and was also 3rd place in the Longtime Production class at the National Holstein Show in both 2024 and 2021.
Birdy’s impact is seen through her ability to transmit her qualities. Her daughter Belgo Sidekick Bizou EX-95 is a testament to this, carrying forward the same balance and udder quality as her dam. In addition to Bizou, Birdy has nine other milking daughters, including eight VG and one GP.
