April 23, 2017 marks the 15th birthday of former World Dairy Expo Supreme Champion Indian Acres Pistachio Pie.
Pie became a household name nearly 10 years ago, on October 6th 2007 when she became the first cow to claim the Supreme Championship titles in both the open and junior shows with owner Ashley Sears on the halter.
Besides being victorious at the World Dairy Expo that year, Pistachio Pie also claimed Supreme Champion honors in both the open and junior shows at the All-American Dairy Show in Harrisburg, PA. In 2006, Pie also garnered National Championship banners at the All-American Dairy Show and the North American International Livestock Exposition in Louisville, KY.
Pie has proven that she isn’t only a pretty face, and is making her mark as a brood cow as well. She is the dam of several sons in AI, including American Pie, who has made his own mark on the fall shows, being named Premier Sire at the 2016 World Dairy Expo. Her daughters and granddaughters score high, and also claim high locations on the CPI Lists for the Guernsey breed.
Pistachio Pie is scored EX94 and is a Magicman daughter from a VG87 Fayette daughter, Indian Acres Fays Pumpkin Pie, followed by the 1995 Reserve All-American Junior 3 Year Old Wanbanaki PV Frank Pecan Pie EX91.
This homebred, Junior owned and exhibited sparked a sensation of renewed excitement surrounding the colored shavings, having been a girl’s 4-H project from calfhood. She still resides with the Sears family in South Deerfield, MA. Everyone at Cowsmopolitan congratulates the Sears family , and everyone who has worked with Pie, on all her accomplishments.
