Gloryland Holsteins of Grottoes, VA is saddened to announce the passing of Gloryland Lana Rae EX94-2E-DOM this morning.
One of the few cows who is known throughout the breed on a first name basis, Lana Rae has had a storied career and has made a name for herself as a brood cow extraordinaire.
Lana Rae is herself a 7th generation Excellent member of the Roxy family, being a Startmore Rudolph daughter of Scientific Liza Rae EX90. Her second dam is C Hanoverhill Tony Rae EX96-3E-GMD-DOM.
Her lifetime production stood at 129,620m, 4,768f and 4.343p in 2,113 days. She is the mother of twenty-five classified daughters who average an amazing 90.03 points. Twenty of those daughters are scored Excellent in their own right, and all of those have Excellent mammaries.
One of her most notable daughters is Gloryland Liberty Rae EX95-3E-DOM-96MS. Liberty Rae is a Durham out of Lana Rae, and was the Honorable Mention All-American 4 Year Old in 2005. Liberty Rae is owned by Collins, Mitchell, Stoltzfus & Tait.
After her many contributions to the breeding program at Gloryland, and to the Holstein breed in general, Lana Rae will be laid to rest on the farm, in front of the Gloryland sign.
