Holstein UK is delighted to announce that Gary Jones, from Gorey, Co. Wexford, Ireland has been appointed as the judge of the National Holstein Show at UK Dairy Day 2026.
In its 12 th year, UK Dairy Day will take place at the Telford International Centre on Wednesday, 16th September. The leading dairy trade event brings together over 300 businesses from the UK’s dairy industry and attracts cattle exhibitors with their exceptional livestock from the breadth of the UK.
Gary was born and raised on his family’s farm, Hallow Holsteins. Together with his wife Izzy and children Ted, Rory and Ella, they run their own farm with the Jones prefix, where they strive to breed and merchandise Holsteins and Jerseys with elite marketable pedigrees. In addition to this, Gary also works as a farm manager for a 500-cow dairy herd. The Jones prefix has owned, bought, sold and bred numerous National Champions throughout Ireland, the UK and Europe.
Gary is a member of judging panels in Ireland, Europe and the USA and has judged many shows throughout Ireland, UK, Italy, USA, Canada, Australia, Spain, Belgium, Finland and Denmark. Some of his highlights include judging at Le Suprême Laitier, Quebec in 2025, associate Red & White Judge at World Dairy Expo 2022 and associate Judge of the Jersey Show at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair 2023.
