See our #felfie Album here! Oxford Dictionaries has named it the “2013 Word of the Year”, yes even words can win awards! It was first noticed in an online chat room, typed by an intoxicated Aussie, and it is now one of the main vehicles driving social media sites! The word, ladies and gentlemen, is “Selfie”.
Wikipedia defines ‘selfie’ as “a type of self-portrait photograph, typically taken with a hand-held digital camera or camera phone … often associated with social networking.”
But, the significance of “selfie” doesn’t stop here! It hasn’t taken long for “selfie” to become the root of so much more, and of course, we in Agriculture have made our own version of this too!
In our industry we call it the “felfie”! “Felfie’s” are “selfies” taken by farmers with their livestock. Who hasn’t already done this? I think most of us are guilty! There’s no shame to be had, we’re all for showing off a little farming pride!
