Faye Finesses Back-to-Back Wins in International Brown Swiss Show

Cutting Edge Thunder Faye, owned by Ken Main and Kenny Joe Manion of Copake, New York was crowned the Grand Champion of the International Brown Swiss Show at World Dairy Expo® for the second year in a row. Faye won the Aged Cow class before taking the Senior Champion title. Faye was also awarded the $1,000 Udder Comfort Grand Champion Cash Award and the Allen Hetts Grand Champion Trophy.

Following Faye, Robland Norwin Bermuda-ET, the winning Senior Three-Year-Old, owned by Tony Kohls and Goldfawn Farm of Mcgregor, Texas, was tapped Intermediate Champion before being named Reserve Grand Champion.

Northkill Creek Groovy, the winning five-year-old cow exhibited by Hannah and Mark Balthaser of Bernville, Pennsylvania, captured Reserve Senior Champion honors. The Reserve Intermediate Champion went to Ritchi View Nuck Hum Dinger, the second place senior three-year-old owned by Mountain View Meadows Brown Swiss of Winlock, Washington.

Junior Champion honors went to the winning Summer Yearling Heifer, Random Luck Total Perfection, exhibited by Jacob Harbaugh and Matthew Thompson of Marion, Wisconsin. Pit-Crew Daredevil Kyla-ET, leased by Allison Foss and owned by Pit-Crew Genetics of Cambridge, Minnesota, topped the Spring Yearling Heifer Class and was named Reserve Junior Champion.

Premier Breeder went to Elite Dairy – Ken Main and Peter Vail of Copake, New York. Premier Exhibitor accolades were awarded to Ken Main and Kenny Joe Manion of Copake, New York. Premier Sire of the International Brown Swiss Show was Voelkers TD Carter for the second year in a row. Pit-Crew Genetics of Cambridge, Minnesota earned Premier Breeder and Exhibitor of the Heifer Show. Brown Heaven R Famous-ET made his debut as this year’s Premier Sire of the Heifer Show.

Official judge Gerrit DeBruin of Lake Mills, Wisconsin and associate judge Hayden Hauschildt of Ellsworth, Wisconsin placed a total of 390 animals in the 2022 International Brown Swiss Show.
