The dairy producer Olympus is expanding its product portfolio and launches the new Stragghisto Greek yogurt on the local market, following an investment of over EUR 20 million in a new production line in Halchiu plant in Brasov.
Stragghisto reveals a traditional Greek yoghurt recipe and is available in three variants: 0%, 2% and 10%.

We are pleased to announce its availability on the Romanian market and dedicate it to all lovers of quality dairy products, “said Athanasios Giannousis, commercial director of Olympus Romania.
Olympus was the first dairy producer to launch Greek yoghurt on the local market in 2011, turning it into a brand-name branded product. Along with classical Greek yogurt, which is among the top consumer preferences within the category, Straghisto complements the current range. Yogurt is entirely intended for domestic consumption and is distributed in most large chain stores across the country.
The 35,000 sqm, Halchiu plant benefits from state-of-the-art equipment for the reception and processing of milk at European level, as well as for the packaging of finished products. With a total milk collection capacity of 75 tons per hour, the Brasov factory produces yoghurt, fresh milk and UHT, cheese, and cream, distributed in hypermarkets and supermarkets in Romania and in the most important European countries: Italy, Germany, Austria, England and Sweden.
The Olympus Group has been present in Romania since 1999. Between 1999 and 2018, Olympus’s total investment in Romania amounted to EUR 130 million. The group of companies, owned by a family of third generation dairy farmers, is based in Trikala, Greece, and operates in 43 countries around the world. Currently, Olympus has five production units in three countries (Greece, Romania and Bulgaria), which produce a full range of dairy and natural juices.
