Further information regarding these figures:
For the first time in many years, Ireland has entered the championship and will travel by boat with 8 of their best specimens.
Among the participants, two countries will have important contingents: France, as the host country, will participate in the championship with 25 cows; and Switzerland with the two breed associations (one per coat colour) will participate as usual with 15 black-and-whites and 15 red-and-whites.
Unfortunately, Finland, Greece, Poland, Rumania, Russia and Sweden will not be able to take part in this championship, at least with animals. But they may attend the European showmanship.
Two countries still need to specify whether they will be participating, i.e. Croatia, Denmark. We will do our best to give them the opportunity to participate in this event.
The Colmar Holstein 2016 Association praises these European delegations’ commitments.
We are happy and pleased by this collective, keen interest in promoting the Holstein breed. We nevertheless remain cautious about the final number of participants, as the event will be held in 11 months from now. The final number of participating countries will be known just one month prior to the event.
