Cogent has expanded its international sales department with the appointment of Tom Peters as Export Area Manager. The move will help support growing international sales of the company’s UK-proven cattle genetics.
Tom, who will report to Cogent’s International Sales Manager Gerbrich Andringa, will be responsible for sales in a number of European countries initially, providing support to distributors in the marketing of the company’s bulls and services.
A graduate of Harper Adams University and with a farming family background, Tom has developed his knowledge of cattle breeding through stints working with the likes of Quality Holsteins and Ferme Jacobs in Canada as well as some top UK herds including Styche, Wintersell and Drointon. His passion for cattle breeding now extends to him having his own Titan prefix, with the first cow he bred being classified EX as a third calver.
During his degree studies at Harper Adams Tom spent his placement year at Cogent, working from July 2008 to September 2009 as a genetics and marketing assistant. He now joins the company in a full time position, with responsibility to help promote UK breeding and genetics around the world.
