Cayley Vande Berg Named 2020 Wisconsin Fairest of the Fairs

Wisconsin’s 54th Fairest of the Fairs is Cayley Vande Berg from Fond du Lac County. The Eldorado native was crowned Wednesday night in Wisconsin Dells after competing against 35 other contestants for this year’s title. As Fairest of the Fairs, she becomes the spokesperson for the Wisconsin Association of Fairs, where she will travel to many of the state’s county, district and state fairs this summer. The reigning ‘Fairest’ also serves as the official hostess of the Wisconsin State Fair each year.

Vande Berg, 20, is a graduate of Laconia High School and is attending the University of Wisconsin-River Falls to earn a degree in dairy science. She has also been employed at Rosendale Dairy, which is Wisconsin’s largest dairy farm. She’s excited to focus on education throughout her year, helping to share the story of Wisconsin agriculture.

“I am most looking forward to visiting county fairs across the state, and learning what makes them unique,” she said.

Cayley replaces outgoing Fairest Meghan Buechel from Brown County.

Meanwhile, Mikaila Falash of the Adams County Fair was named runner-up, with Lauren Flynn from Rock County being second runner-up. St. Croix County’s Jessica Moor was third and Emma Buss, Lafayette County, was fourth runner-up. Cole Chapman of the Green Lake County Fair was selected among his peers for the Congeniality award.

Judges of the competition were Jo Reynolds, Steve Asplund and Sarah Kikkert.
