Back by popular demand, Calf Congress 2013 “Growing the Next Generation” will be held on December 4-5, 2013 at the RIT Inn & Conference Center in Rochester, New York.
This innovative conference, organized by the NWNY Team of Cornell University Extension, in conjunction with the PRO-DAIRY Program.
The day-long symposium program on December 5 is devoted to understanding effective decision making in raising healthy and productive replacements. The evening session on December 4th is designed specifically for those producers that are using a group housing and feeding system as well as ventilation needs of calf barns. Conference attendees will hear first-hand stories of measured results of on-farm innovations, new concepts in calf performance assessment and how to choose the next generation candidates early in the process.
Speakers include: Dr. Bob James from Virginia Tech, Curt Gooch from Cornell, Dr. Simon Peak from U-W Madison, Dr. Mike Van Amburgh from Cornell, Amelia Woolims from the University of Georgia, Dr. Kimberley Morrill from Cornell as well as two producer panels that focus on Calf Housing Systems (evening panel 12/4) and Culling/selling Dairy Replacements (afternoon panel 12/5).
