Bruce Murchison of Bracebridge, ON, who had a 29-year career at the Holstein Journal magazine, died on May 20th in his 87th year. Bruce joined the Holstein Journal as an Associate Editor in March 1961, following nine years as an A.I. technician and employee with Maple Cattle Breeders. He served for many years as the Journal’s Livestock Advertising Manager and in 1979 was appointed Publisher. He became a partner in the Holstein Journal in 1987. He retired in 1990. Bruce “read pedigrees” at many major Holstein herd dispersals and consignment sales in Ontario, Western Canada and England. During retirement, he continued to attend the Royal
Agricultural Winter Fair and many other Holstein events where he enjoyed visiting with his many friends.

Bruce cherished his family and treasured the times they had together, whether it was at sport events, family time at the cottage, riding bikes together in Florida, or playing a game of cribbage. Bruce Murchison is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy, son Bryan (Cheryl), daughter Valerie (John), and four grandchildren.
