Saint-Hyacinthe, QC – The Board of Directors of Ayrshire Canada is proud to announce the hiring of Ms. Lora Bender as General Manager. Lora comes with a wealth of experience within the Industry as she previously worked as Events Coordinator at Holstein Canada. She will progressively join the Ayrshire Canada team as of March 25th, 2013, to facilitate her existing responsibilities with the National Holstein Convention in April.
Lora grew up on Top O’Trafalgar apple farm in Erin, Ontario, where her entrepreneurial family owned and operated a farm store, along with miniature horses and 10,000 apple trees. She grew up representing the farm at local fall fairs and operated her own business along with the farm at the age of 16 called Horrifying Haunted Hayrides. She enjoys volunteering on local committees in various industries, and she is also an avid world traveler: she has visited 26 different countries!
After graduating from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, Lora joined the Marketing department at Holstein Canada and has represented the Association for the past 10 years at various trade events, meetings, and dairy cattle shows in North America. Lora’s achievements included: Project Leader for the 2012 World Holstein Conference; Working with local committees and the Board of Directors as the Annual National Holstein Convention Organizer; Key Planner of the Holstein Canada booth at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair; Chair of the Dairy Industry Partner Workshop; And, finally, sourcing and selecting Holstein Canada promotional items for trade shows and events as well as being responsible for Holstein Canada apparel online.
Lora’s enthusiasm and personal skills will contribute greatly to the success of our Association. She is excited for this opportunity and will use her unique out-of-the-box thinking to promote the Ayrshire breed within Canada and around the world. Lora looks forward to the challenges ahead including collaboration with many industry partners.
