Art Nesbitt Obituary

Arthur Wallace Nesbitt died peacefully on July 22, 2025. Arthur was the son of James & Francis Nesbitt and was born in Enon Valley, PA on July 29, 1927. Arthur is survived by his wife Nancy, sons Warren (Paula) and David (Karen), grandsons Brant (Erin) and Andrew, great grandchildren Brooks and Ella, Nancy’s son David (Renee) Woolard and numerous nieces and nephews.

He attended Penn State University where he has been recognized as a Distinguished Alumnus, Alumni Fellow and past Penn State Trustee. He established a Penn State endowment to recognize outstanding faculty in the animal science and food science departments.

He departed PA in 1959 to become the Sales Manager of Nasco in Fort Atkinson. He progressed through different positions until he became chairman, president and CEO of Nasco International. During his tenure at Nasco International, Art served as director and chairman of the board of The Gehl Company and director and president of the Dairy and Food Industry Suppliers Association. Art is past president of Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce, Wisconsin’s largest business organization.

Art served the National Dairy Shrine organization for over twenty years and was the announcer for World Dairy Expo for 37 years. Art recently retired from his finance committee chairmanship for the Collegiate Dairy Products Evaluation Contest.

Arthur was a generous contributor to Fort Healthcare nursing scholarship, Mayo Clinic, UW macular degeneration fund, Penn State College of Ag sciences, Rock River Community Clinic, Rock Prairie Presbyterian Church, Enon Valley Community Historical Society, and many other organizations.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. at Rock Prairie Presbyterian Church in Janesville, WI on Monday, July 28, 2025. Visitation will be from 1:00 – 3:00pm. A celebration of life will follow the service in the parish hall. Burial will take place at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29 at Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Atkinson, WI.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to UW Age Related Macular Degeneration fund or UW Retina Research Foundation.

Dunlap Memorial Home in Fort Atkinson is assisting the family.
