Alta News-  Given the undeniable growth of the Jersey breed and its importance to Alta, we are excited to announce that Alta will be launching its own Jersey sire development program.

As one of the leading Jersey sales teams in the US and the largest exporter of Jersey genetics worldwide, we are confident that choosing this direction will allow us to respond most efficiently to the needs of our valuable Jersey clients.  As Jersey genetic progress continues to accelerate, we look forward to maximizing genetic gain in all progressive-minded Jersey and Jersey-influenced herds. We are committed to have a globally leading Jersey program aligned with all facets of our clients’ needs: genetics, fertility, programs, people and services.  We will establish a program to generate profitable genetics through rapid improvement in JPI, JUI and maximum pursuit of production and health traits. We are contracting matings and pregnancies, genomic testing young bulls, and purchasing available field bulls. We look forward to building strong relationships on the sire procurement side within the Jersey industry.

We would like to thank Jerseyland Sires for their nearly 15 years of partnership. We are proud of the joint effort that saw a near fivefold sales increase over that time period. Alta and JLS will continue to release new breed leading sires through the fall of 2016, and Alta will continue to exclusively market all 11JE Jerseyland Sires including the existing line-up led by MARCIN, APPLEJACK and its latest superstar IRWIN STEVE.  It has been a great honor and learning experience to work so closely with the owner-members of Jerseyland Sires and we look forward to continue working with them in the sire procurement, sales and service aspects of the industry.
