We have great pleasure in announcing that we will be running the All Britain & Ireland Photographic Competition this year.
With all the shows being cancelled, we felt this was one competition that members could still enter and get some enjoyment and recognition from.
There are two extra classes from last year. Calf under 6 months of age and a scenic shot of Ayrshire cows. The winning photograph of the scenic class will be used on a future cover of the Ayrshire Journal.
The closing date for the competition is 31st December 2020 so if you haven’t done any photographing yet you still have time.
Please submit your entries along with the digital image by email to [email protected], entries after the closing date will not be eligible. Each entry should be accompanied with the animals name, class and the date the photograph was taken. The date that the photograph is taken determines the animals age and class eligibility.
All photos must have been taken during the 2020 calendar year. Awards will be presented at the 2021 annual conference. The competition will be judged by the Society judging panel.
Classes are as follows:
Ayrshire – Entries must be a minimum of 51% Ayrshire
- Under 6 months
- 6 – 12 months
- 12 – 18 months
- 18 – 24 months
- 2 years old in milk
- 3 years old in milk
- 4 years old in milk
- 5 years old in milk
- 6 & 7 year old in milk
- 8 years and over in milk
British Red & White – Entries under 51% Ayrshire
- Heifer in Milk
- Cow in Milk
- Amateur
- Any individual animal that is not haltered
- Scenic shot of Ayrshire cows
