Accelerated Genetics Continues to Grow!

Baraboo, Wis.  – Accelerated Genetics is pleased to announce the addition of new employees continuing the growth trend for the cooperative. Joining the Accelerated Genetics team are Dr. Charlie Brown, Meagan Voss, Megan Perkins, Kathy Janecek, Hailey Birkholz and Kylee Thomas.
Accelerated Genetics hires Dr. Charlie Brown as the Director of Veterinary Services. He will be based out of both the Administrative Headquarters in Baraboo, Wis. and the Production Facilities in Westby, Wis.

Dr. Brown received his DVM degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1987 and a B.S. in Animal Science at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. He comes to Accelerated Genetics with an extensive employment background in dairy animal medicine and has practiced in Wisconsin, New York, and Vermont. He is also a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Bovine Practitioners, Society for Theriogenology and Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Brown’s areas of interest include ruminant nutrition and herd fertility. He is well known and respected throughout the A.I. industry and currently serves as Chairman of the Certified Semen Services Board of Directors.

Meagan Voss joins Accelerated Genetics as the Human Resources Manager based at the Administrative Headquarters in Baraboo, Wis. In this position, Voss will be responsible for guiding and managing all facets of the Human Resources services, policies and programs for Accelerated Genetics, and to lead all human resources practices.

Voss comes to Accelerated Genetics with over 10 years experience in human resource management, communication, and customer service. She possesses extensive knowledge in employee recruitment, interviewing processes and onboard training, administering human resource policies and procedures, benefits administration, and handling employee conflicts and concerns.

Voss is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and is certified in the areas of OSHA Training and Record Keeping, and Drug and Alcohol Testing from the State of Wisconsin.

Accelerated Genetics is excited to welcome Megan Perkins as the new Customer Service Representative. In this role, Perkins is responsible for working within the call center handling incoming requests and customer orders. She is based out of the Accelerated Genetics Administration facility near Baraboo, Wis. Megan graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville with a degree in Animal Science.

Accelerated Genetics is pleased to announce two new hires at the Production Facility in Westby, Wis. Joining the team is Kathy Janecek, Herdsman and Hailey Birkholz, Lab Technician.

Janecek joins Accelerated Genetics as a member of the farm and barn crew. She grew up on a small beef farm near LaFarge, Wis., and is a 2013  graduate of Western Technical College, LaCrosse, Wis., with an Associate degree in Agribusiness and Science Technology. She is also certified as an Artificial Insemination technician.

After a brief career in the feed industry, Janecek was anxious to get back to working with cattle. She states she has a deep passion for the animal industry and is looking forward to learning more about AI and animal genetics.

Birkholz joins the Laboratory team. She is a recent graduate from Globe University, La Crosse, Wis. where she received her degree in Veterinary Technology. She grew up on a dairy farm near Wilton, Wis.

Recently Birkholz moved back to the area from St. Paul, Minn., where she worked as a Vet Tech at the University of Minnesota School of Veterinary Medicine large animal department.

Joining the Sales Team as District Sales Representative in Northern New York is Kylee Thomas. Her service area includes the counties of St. Lawrence, Jefferson, Lewis, and Oswego.

Thomas brings to Accelerated Genetics experience in calf management, cattle fitting, hoof trimming, cattle sales and transportation. She has also exhibited cattle at several national dairy shows.

Thomas grew up on a Jersey and Holstein dairy farm and was a member of 4-H for 18 years. She currently is involved in Dairy Discovery, a 4-H youth program that provides hands-on learning experiences on dairy production and management.
