The annual Semex Dairy Conference is to be held between the 11th and 13th January 2015 at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Glasgow. It is the 25th anniversary of the conference – making it the longest running dairy farming conference in the country.
Chairing the conference is John Allen, from the well known consultancy group Kite. Speakers include: Ake Hantoft, Chairman of Arla Foods amba; Paul Larmer CEO of Semex; Farmers For Action boss David Handley; Neil Kennedy, Interim Chief Executive of Adams Foods; Liz Philip, Chief Executive of Newton Rigg College; Gwyn Jones, Chairman of RUMA (Responsible use of Medicines in Agriculture); Dr Lewis James, Lecturer in Sports Nutrition at Loughborough University; Sally Wilson, Partner at Evolution Vets; and John Fetrow, Professor of Dairy Production Medicine at the University of Minnesota. These speakers will be complemented by a range of practical dairy farmers from here and abroad including Howell Richards; and Clay McCarty of McCarty Family Farms in Kansas.
The conference will be the usual mix of business and pleasure, with the renown Burns Supper on the Monday evening. And, being the 25th year, Semex is also saying there will be one or two surprises at the event too!
