Four Iowa State University students will each receive a $2,500 scholarship from Eric and Nicole Lang in Brooklyn, Iowa.
This year’s scholarships are awarded in honor of Mildred Lyons, Gene Henderson, Gene and Judy Rathjen and Hadwen Kleiss.
Each honoree was chosen by Eric Lang on the basis of character, integrity and their professional and/or voluntary contributions to dairy cattle breeding and promotion, or milk production in Iowa. Student recipients are chosen by university personnel on the basis of their propensity to be assets both to agriculture and to society following graduation in the dairy science curriculum.
This is the fifth year that the Langs have funded these scholarships that are awarded in March at the Dairy Science Banquet in Ames.
