This Heifer Rearing Competition looks to reward farmers who have already adopted rearing strategies to maximise a heifer’s lifetime performance. There is no one strategy which is right, each farm will be judged independently taking into account individual farm targets and systems.
By celebrating good calf management we hope to create a greater awareness of this important stage in a heifer’s life and highlight some realistic steps that can be adopted by all farmers to help achieve maximum lifetime performance.
