The 25th Anniversary edition of the Ontario Summer Holstein Show has concluded in Lindsay, Ontario after judge Matt Templeton of Tarwin, Victoria, Australia placed 244 head of Holsteins over two days. Winning the Grand Champion rosette was the 1st place junior 3-year-old – Winright Solomon Espresso exhibited by Ferme Blondin / Blondin Sires of St. Placide, Quebec. Following her into the Reserve Grand Champion spot was the winning senior 3-year-old, Fraeland Unix Buttertart owned by Fraeland Farms & Beckridge Holsteins, Fergus, ON. Those two cows were also the Intermediate Champions, and Buttertart was the Champion Bred & Owned of the show. Ferme Blondin claimed both the Premier Breeder & Premier Exhibitor banners.
Judge Templeton earned his paycheck on Thursday by first judging the entire Jersey show, then placing 177 Holstein heifers. The Junior Champion crown was claimed by Clarkvalley Analyst Chacha (Analyst), 1st junior yearling, exhibited by Clarkvalley Holsteins, Woodville, ON. Chacha was also the Champion Bred & Owned Heifer of the show.
