The Minnesota Nice National Brown Swiss Convention Sale 2016 took place on July 8th in Owatonna, MN. Fifty-six head sold to 41 buyers representing twelve states, at an average of $5309. Twenty-three embryos sold, averaging $613. The sale was managed by Brown Swiss Sale Service LLC.
The top seller for the evening was Holyland Twilight Keeps 2332, commanding a price of $16,000. Keeps is the #41T Cow in the breed. She is sired by Twilight, and is out of a VG86 Driver. She was the consignment of Joe & Mark Loehr, WI and was taken home by Roger and Lori Read, MN.
Second high seller for the night at $15,500 was the 2014 HM All-American Senior 2 Year Old, Cutting Edge Stratus Sue EX91. Sue will show as a 4 Year Old this year, and is due in July to Biver. She is a Stratus from a 2E-92 Power Storm. Sue was consigned by Ken Main and Peter Vail, NY, and was purchased by Ron Kelm, WI.
Third high seller at $10,600 was Lot 1, Jo-Dee Glamorous Nancy. She is a February 2016 Glenn daughter of Jo-Dee Prelude Nancy-ET 2E-94. She was consigned by Jodi Coppini and Royal Hill Farm, OR. The final bidders were Elite Dairy, NY.
The fourth high price of the night was $9,800, paid for the choice of Lots 2 and 3. Kulpdale Genetics, PA selected Lot 3, BMG Gimme All Ur Lovin. She is a January 2015 Ali Jackson from Harts Lady Lust-ET EX90, the #14 PPR Cow in the breed. The choice was consigned by Blue Mountain Genetics, MN.
Rounding out the top five high sellers at $9,000 was Brown Heaven Fatima-ET, a June 2015 full sister to Brown Heaven Glenn Fantasy EX95, the 2015 World Dairy Expo Grand Champion. She was consigned by Brown Heaven Farm, QC and purchased by Richard Jorgenson, WI.
