Breeding for cow families, type, and production, Wadeland Dairy is a family affair! Wadeland Dairy resides in Ogden, Utah and is run by Trent and Clint Wade, the fourth generation of dairy farmers. Their father, Blaine, hasn’t gotten off the hook yet and still enjoys coming out and helping with the crops. In 1999 they bought the neighbouring dairy 3 miles down the road and the herd expanded from 300 to 800 head. In 2010, a new milking barn with a 50-stall rotary parlor was built and the herd more than doubled to 2,000 head. Equal numbers of Holsteins and Jerseys make up the 2,000 head milking herd. There is also approximately 2,200 young stock which they raise themselves, all of this on 350 acres.

Their breeding objectives are quite successful with the cow families they are working with and the sires they are using. Notable cow families include KHW Regiment Apple-Red-ET EX96-4E, Harvue Roy Frosty EX97-2E, Walnutlawn McCutchen Summer EX95, CookieCutter Dta Habitan-ET EX90, and Belfast Doorman Lovestruck VG88. Wadeland is able to continue working with their favorite families through IVF which allows for multiple sires to be crossed on the families. Crossing well known families with well known bulls seems to be working! Recently used Holstein sires include Woodcrest King Doc (250H12961), S-S-I Pr Renegade-ET (250H14134), Coomboona Zipit Mirand-Imp-ET (187H5402), Seimers EXC Hanans-ET (250H15325) and OCD Mystic Crush-ET (250H15236). Jersey sires include, River Valley Circus Craze-ET (777J10001), River Valley Cece Chrome-ET (507J5004), Ahlem Kwynn Respect-ET (507J1638), and Elliotts Regency Casino-ET (614J725) and River Valley Chief  777J10034.

Some recent highlights for Wadeland is in 2020 they achieved an All-American banner with Spring Calf, AOT Avalanche Hangover-ET and in 2021 were nominated All-American Senior Best of Three.

The goal of Wadeland is to breed profitable cattle with great udders that you can enjoy seeing in your barn each and every day. Their breeding objectives and considerations seem to be creating a perfect storm for creating successful, profitable animals in and out of the show ring.
