The U.S. Dairy Export Council says strong demand, especially for cheese and butterfat, led to a 14 percent increase in shipments for November.
Total U.S. dairy exports values also rose 14 percent to $801.7 million, and volumes year to date are up three percent compared to 2024.
Cheese exports increased 28 percent for November, with demand from South Korea and several other areas up significantly.
Butter shipments jumped 245 percent, and anhydrous milk fat was up 184 percent.
Low-protein exports were up 13 percent, with Chinese demand up 28 percent for the month. Lactose shipments were up five percent. Whole milk powder exports gained 43 percent, and milk protein concentrate rose 43 percent.
Nonfat dry milk/skim milk powder exports were flat for the second straight month.
Economists credit South Korea, Southeast Asia, and exports to the Middle East/North Africa for the surge in demand.
