Southwestern Ontario Dairy Symposium Returns Feb. 22

The annual event hosts producers, dairy experts, researchers, and industry leaders to exchange knowledge, share innovations, and celebrate the achievements of the dairy sector. Attendees can connect with fellow dairy enthusiasts, build valuable relationships, and exchange ideas with industry peers and leaders.

This year’s symposium offers a lineup of world-class speakers ready to share insights and expertise on the latest developments and trends in dairy production.

Mark Taylor, president and CEO of Lactalis Canada Inc. will headline as the keynote speaker, offering a processor’s perspective on a changing industry in a fireside chat.

Dr. Eduardo Ribeiro from the University of Guelph will guide attendees through the nuances of transition cow management, offering actionable insights into maximizing herd health and productivity.

Dr. Débora Santschi and Dr. Simon Jetté-Nantel of Lactanet will delve into on-farm strategies for managing Solids-Not-Fat (SNF) ratio, shedding light on both practical applications and the economics surrounding these management practices. Dr. Julien Chamberland from the University of Laval will cap off the discussion by providing the processor’s perspective on SNFs and will address the concerns of consumers regarding the implementation of eco-efficient valorization pathways for SNFs. ·

The symposium will have over 100 exhibitors featuring cutting-edge technologies, equipment, and services to enhance dairy farm efficiency and profitability.
