The Bright Futures 2 Sale was held Friday, night September 18. The sale featured embryos, donor cows and a few choices representing Holsteins, Brown Swiss, Jerseys and Red and Whites. Oakfield Corners was a feature in the sale having consigned 23 total lots. The High Seller was Lot 3 at $9,500, Kevetta Rdbrst Lucious Red EX94 consigned by Oakfield and purchased by Elmer Fisher of Elizabethville, PA
The second-high seller was a Jersey embryo lot. Five embryos from Arethusa Response Vivid EX96 x Premier were struck off at $1,700 per embryo. David Jordan was the successful bidder.
The sale gross was $198,000 with an average of $2,955 on 67 lots. In all, 262 embryos representing three breeds sold for an average of $555.32 per embryo.
The sale was managed by the team of MD-Hillbrook and Borderview Genetics. The staff was comprised of Jamie Black, Chad Umbel, Matt Hawbaker and Ron Heffner.
