Ron Judd Obituary

Peacefully at home at Meadow Lynn Farm on Wed. August 12, 2020, Ronald T. Judd in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of the late Anne Judd (nee Torry, 2010). Father of Joanne, Kathy, (Neil Dunning) and Fred (Sharon). Remembered by Tom Weber. Lovingly remembered by grandchildren Adam, Leah (Declan), Jane (Michael), Blythe (Adam) and the late Ward; Andrew (Susan), Jon (Patty); Thomas (Sarah), Sarah (Adam), and Susan (Tom). Great grandfather to Annie, Ferris, Delphine, Simon, Oliver, Kate, Sebastian, Eloise, and one on the way in England. Predeceased by parents Fred and Alice (Bull) Judd and siblings Charles, Edna Bowyer, Leonard and James. Remembered by nieces and nephews and extended family.

Ron was a lifelong dairy farmer in Norfolk County. He was awarded Constructive Breeder and a Lifetime Member of Jersey Canada.  A community minded person, Ron was a councillor for the Town of Simcoe, followed by Regional Councillor for Haldimand-Norfolk.  He was instrumental in the recovery and reconstruction of the West and Peachey Alligator Tug (W.D. Stalker). Ron was inducted into the Norfolk Agricultural Hall of Fame in 2017. As an active member of St. John’s Anglican Church Woodhouse he was a church warden for 10 years and sat for 70 years on the Cemetery board. He was awarded a 50 year pin by the Norfolk Masonic Lodge A.N. and A.F. #10 Simcoe. Over his lifetime, Ron was president or chair of numerous agricultural and community organizations.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to FERRIS FUNERAL HOME, Simcoe (519-426-1314).
