Holiday Harvest Sale 2016

The Holiday Harvest Sale was held Thursday, December 22^nd in East Lansing, Michigan.  This public auction featured the two highest GTPI females ever to be offered at public auction.

The full sisters, sired by Modesty, offer a unique proven pedigree from the Rudy Missy family.  Dam is a View-Home Mrdian Iowa-ET VG86 DOM GTPI 2576 then Pine-Tree 2149Robst 4846-ET.

This was the 8^th Holiday Harvest Sale is annual sale managed by CanAm Sales Management.  The sale staff included Jason Lamoreaux, Auctioneer, Daniel Brandt, Pedigrees, along with additional sales staff of Jim Stanton, Max Dunseth, Mark Sellers, Mike Lortie, Mike Berby, Nicole VanderPloeg, Chad Griffith and Steve Berland.  Bovine Genomic Partners sponsored the this year’s sale.

The 9^th Annual Holiday Harvest Sale is scheduled for Thursday, December 21, 2017.

The Holiday Harvest Sale 2016 took place December 22nd in East Lansing, MI at the MSU Livestock Pavilion. The sale, managed by Can-Am Sales, featured the two highest genomic heifers to sell at public auction to date.

The top seller was Lot 2, BGP Modesty Imogene-ET, sold for $162,500. Imogene is a +2886GTPI +8.1PL +997NM$ November 2016 Modesty from View-Home Mrdian Iowa VG86-DOM, who also sold in the sale for $27,000.

Second high seller was a full sister to the top. BGP Modesty Independence-ET sold for $132,500. Independence comes is in at +2878GTPI, +7.7PL, + 934NM$ and +3.12PTAT. Both calves were consigned by Bovine Genomic Partners, MI.

The third high price of the day, $32,000, was paid for Lot 21, BGP Modesty Honeysuckle-ET. Honeysuckle is an October 2016 Modesty that comes in at +2802GTPI +7.5PL +916NM$. She is out of a +2500GTPI Halogen out of a VG86-DOM Robust, followed by seven generations of VG & EX dams from the Rudy Missy EX92-3E-DOM family. She was also consigned by Bovine Genomic Partners, MI.

The fourth high seller hailed from the same cow family, and sold for $28,000. Selling as Lot 9 was another Bovine Genomic Partners consignment, BGP Delta Honna-ET, a June 2016 +2792GTPI +881NM$ +7.3PL +2.93PTAT Delta from a VG88-DOM Numero Uno out of a VG86-DOM Robust, followed by seven generations of VG & EX dams from the Rudy Missy’s.

Two animals sold for the fifth high price of the day, bringing $27,000 each. Lot 11, BGP Delta Honey 2-ET, a +2775GTPI +881NM$ +7.5PL June 2016 Delta from a VG86-DOM Robust, followed by seven generations of VG & EX dams from the Rudy Missy’s. She was also consigned by Bovine Genomic Partners, MI.

Lot 1, View-Home Mrdian Iowa-ET VG86-DOM, also commanded the price of $27,000. Iowa is the dam of the two high selling calves, and sold dry, open and ready to flush and IVF. She is a Meridian daughter  from a VG86-DOM Robust out of a VG87-DOM Zenith, with six more generations of VG & EX dams from the Rudy Missy family. Iowa was also a consignment of Bovine Genomic Partners, MI.
