Brantford, ON – Holstein Canada is pleased to announce the two judges named to officiate the 2014 National Black and White Holstein show and 2014 Red and White National Holstein Show during the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair (RAWF):

2014 National Black and White Holstein Show Judge: Donald Dubois, Princeville, QC
Donal Dubois is presently a Territory Manager with Alta Genetics and has been since 2003.  Prior to working for Alta, Donald was a well-respected cow fitter for 15 years, having the opportunity to work for top breeders around the World while traveling to many countries including the United States, Mexico, Italy, Belgium, United Kingdom, Switzerland, and France.  A Holstein Canada Official Judge since 1997, Donald has officiated numerous major Canadian shows including the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair National Red & White Show, Quebec Spring Show and Atlantic Championship Show.  Donald has also had the opportunity to travel internationally to judge shows throughout the United States, Ireland, United Kingdom, Belgium, Brazil and Portugal.  Donald has had major success owning animals solely and in partnership in Canada and in the United States with many of these animals achieving great success being nominated All-Canadian and All-American and including many class winners.  Donald and his partner France Lemieux have three children, Anthony, Carl and Audrey-Ann.

2014 National Red and White Holstein Show Judge: Carl Phoenix, Sunderland, ON
Carl Phoenix hails form Sunderland, Ontario where he and his wife Kera, along with their three children – Clara, Carson and Weston – milk 35 registered Holsteins under the Phoenixholm prefix.  Carl also farms in partnership with Phoenix Bros under the Dappledale prefix, a family partnership that involves his father, uncle, cousins, and brothers.  Over the past ten years Phoenix Bros. have achieved several All-Canadian nominations and their Breeder’s Herd has been nominated twice.  Carl has judged several shows across Canada including the BC Spring Show, Calgary Spring Show, Atlantic Summer Classic as well as numerous county and 4-H shows across Ontario.  Carl was also proud to have judged the National Dairy Show in Ireland in 2012 and serve as the Associate Judge for the Jersey show at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair i 2013.  Carl is a proud former 4-H member and is currently the leader of the Durham-West 4-H club and is Past President of the Ontario County Holstein Club.
