Repeat Showmanship Win for Perth County Champ
4-Her Jenny Hall, Perth County has repeated as Champion Showperson at the Western Ontario 4-H Championship show. Ms. Hall was also Champion Showperson at the 2011 show and had been named 2012 Perth County Champion Showperson only the day before.
Over 129 keen Dairy 4-Hers participated in the Western Ontario 4-H Dairy Championship show held at Stratford Fall Fair on September 22, 2012. Judge Pete Coleman, Brantford On, put the 4-Hers through their paces in the showmanship classes finally arriving with a Champion showperson of Jenny Hall of Perth County, who earlier in the day won the Senior Showmanship class. Reserve Champion Showperson honours went to Grace McLeod of Oxford County who had won the Junior showmanship class. Honourable Mention went to Chris DeKlein of Middlesex county, 1st Intermediate Showperson.
Champion Calf honours went to Serena Lamont of Bruce County with Golden Comerica L’Oreal the winning Senior Calf. Reserve Champion Calf was shown by Ryan Martin of Oxford County with Doanlea Alex Bailey, the 1st Summer Yearling. Honourable Mention calf was shown by Madison Dyment of Oxford County with Howard-View-I Rosalee.
The group of 3 calves was won by Oxford county with Middlesex and Elgin rounding out the top three. The committee would like to thank Shur-Gain and the Stratford Agricultural Society who were the presenting partners of this year’s show.
