The Ontario Holstein Branch is pleased to announce that Ava Doner is joining the Branch team this summer. Ava Doner is currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture program at the University of Guelph as an Animal Science major and a minor in Business. She has been an active member throughout her school and community, dedicating countless hours to her role as Courtice Secondary School’s President to make the school a better place.
At University, the leadership has continued with Ava being a member of the Dairy Science Club, OAC Judging Club, a participant of the OAC Leadership Conference and the President of the 4-H On Campus club. Ava is very passionate and committed to the dairy industry and it’s community through various 4-H activities. Throughout her 4-H career, she has attended Provincial Leadership Camp, Future Leaders in Action, Discovery Days, Youth Adventure Camp and has been a member of the TD Canadian Dairy Classic team for the past 7 years. In 2014, Ava competed at the World Dairy Expo in Wisconsin on the Ontario Judging Team and in 2015 she won Top Overall Individual in placings and reasons at the Inter-County Judging Competition. Additionally, Ava was a 2015-2016 4-H Ontario Ambassador where she traveled across Ontario to represent 4-H at different events. Ava is also a member of the Future Dairy Leaders club where she engages with other young dairy enthusiasts, learns from guest speakers and shares ideas on a variety of topics that influence the dairy industry. Ava commenced her employment on May 10th, 2016. We are looking forward to Ava’s assistance on a number of projects throughout the summer and encourage everyone to intro-duce themselves to her when you have a chance
