Thursday, May 5: Work is in progress to replace prefixes in the names of animals recorded in the Genetic Recovery and Jersey Expansion programs with a Generation Count suffix. Generation Count indicates depth of recorded Jersey ancestry from {1} through {6}. Animals that have Herd Register status (seven or more generations of AJCA-recorded ancestry) do not have a Generation Count suffix.
Registration on infoJersey is now closed so that the AJCA animal database can be updated. You will be able to order JerseyTags and genomic test kits until that update is completed. Then, the entire infoJersey site will go offline to complete programming changes.
Generation Count implementation will continue through Tuesday, May 10. No registration or transfer work will be mailed until implementation is completed and infoJersey is back online.

May 3, 2016:
Following action of the AJCA Board of Directors at its meeting March 12, a Generation Count suffix will replace prefixes in the names of animals recorded in the Genetic Recovery and Jersey Expansion programs.
The first phase of implementation begins this Thursday, May 5. Registration on infoJersey will be closed so that the AJCA animal database can be updated. Other infoJersey services (such as ordering JerseyTags and genomic tests) will be available until the update is completed. Then, the entire infoJersey site will go offline to complete programming changes.
Generation Count implementation will continue through Tuesday, May 10. No registration or transfer work will be mailed until implementation is completed and infoJersey is back online. Progress reports will be posted on the USJersey Facebook page.
Please note: Certificates will not be automatically reissued for animals affected by the Generation Count updates. Replacement certificates will be provided upon request and at no charge. Contact Herd Services at 614/861-3636 (Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Eastern), or by email.
