Christmas Traditions

A look at International Christmas Traditions and Customs, including Recipes from Canada, Switzerland, The Netherlands and Denmark.

Canadian Toffee

2 cups brown sugar

1 1/2 cups corm syrup

1/2 cup butter

2 cups cream

1 tsp vanilla

Mix all the ingredients except cream in a heavy saucepan, add 1/2 cup of the cream. Bring the ingredients to a boil, add the remaining cream while boiling. Boil vigorously. Cook to hard ball stage and add vanilla. Pour in butter pan to cool. Cut into squares.
